Tracking starts at check-in

When someone checks in, Standby drops them onto their scheduled position automatically. Radios and equipment get handed out in the same pass, so every person is tied to what they're carrying and any radio can be traced back through its full chain of custody.

Credentials get checked right there too. Anything expired surfaces while the person is still in front of you, rather than three hours later when somebody asks. Walk-ups and late arrivals go through the same flow, so they land on the board instead of in the margin of a printout.

The board moves when the site moves

Reassign with a click. Send someone to standby. Cover a break in one step. Long-shift and missed-break warnings surface before they turn into a problem, and the whole thing works offline, because reception dies in the back corners of every site. Moves save on the device and sync when the signal comes back.

The board is the answer to "where is everyone," available without walking anywhere.

The gap you didn't mean to create

Somebody goes on break. You pull the nearest person to cover, and that person was holding a position too. You just created an open position, on purpose, for a good reason, which is exactly why nobody writes it down.

Standby flags it the second it exists and floats it to the top of the board. The relief chain goes into the record as you key it in, so at 3am you can still see who covered what and when.

The record writes itself

Shift reports, staff reports, and after-action reviews generate from the moves you already made. There's no separate write-up at the end of the night, because the tracking was the write-up.
